The brand, in about a hundred words
PAWD is an Australian pet accessories brand, run out of Sydney. It started with a drawer of failed collars and a pomapoo called Jake. A clip that rusted after one summer at the beach. Webbing that frayed where it met the D-ring. A lead that let go on a wet footpath in Ultimo, which is the sort of thing you only need to experience once. Looking for better turned up a market split cleanly in two: cheap things that last a season, and expensive things built the same way underneath with a logo on top. What we wanted was narrow and apparently difficult. Tell me what it is made of, tell me how to size it, and charge me what it is worth. PAWD is the attempt at that.
Who started it, and on what basis
PAWD was founded by [FOUNDER NAME], who lives in Sydney and owns the dog in the paragraph above.
There is no qualification behind the brand and we would rather say so than imply one. What there is: several thousand products assessed one at a time to arrive at the few hundred in the range, a material read off the record and the item itself for every one of them, a size guide written for every product that needs one, and a reason recorded for every return. That is the basis. It is narrower than a credential and more useful than one, because it is the thing that decides whether a collar actually fits your dog.
Jake is real, which is worth stating because most brand-origin dogs are not. He is a pomapoo, Sydney-born, a few streets back from Darling Harbour. When he was one the rental changed hands and the new lease did not allow dogs, so he went to his grandparents in Wollongong. It was meant to be temporary. He never came back, and the house he went to is now where three generations turn up most Sundays. He wears an extra small collar, 20cm to 28cm, which is a humbling measurement for an animal who believes he is a wolf. The full story is at Meet Jake: How PAWD Began.
Where the range is made
Plainly, because this is the question we get asked and the one most brands answer with a photograph of a workshop they have never visited.
The range is designed and selected in Sydney and manufactured by a specialist pet accessory maker overseas. PAWD is not a manufacturer. We do not own a factory, we have not visited a tannery, and we are not Australian Made. What we control is judgement and description: which products make the range, what we say they are made of, how the sizing is explained, and whether the photograph shows the actual item.

What we will not claim
Included because it saves you a fact-check, and because it is the most useful thing on this page.
- No certifications. PAWD holds none. No OEKO-TEX, no B Corp, no certified anything. If you see a certification claim attached to PAWD, it did not come from us.
- No materials testing of our own. We have not run a tensile test or a lab assay on anything. We describe materials, we do not certify them.
- Not Australian Made. Australian brand, Australian-run, made overseas. Those are three different claims and only the first two are ours.
- No country or region of origin for a material. No village in Italy, no mill in Portugal. We cannot evidence it, so we do not say it.
- No customer reviews yet. PAWD has no published review corpus and no star ratings, and we are not marking up ratings that do not exist. Reviews are being set up. Until they are, there is nothing to quote, and we will tell you that rather than find you a testimonial.
- No invented numbers. No customer counts, no years in business, no "trusted by thousands". If we give you a number it came out of the store.
