PAWD started with a simple frustration: we couldn't find pet accessories that were actually good.

Not good in a marketing sense — good in the way that a well-made knife is good, or a well-built chair. Things that work exactly as intended, feel right in your hands, and last long enough to become part of your life rather than cycling through landfill every eighteen months.

## Where We Started

We're an Australian brand, founded in Sydney. The founders were dog owners before they were business owners — frustrated by the gap between what the pet accessories market offered and what they actually wanted for their animals.

The market was full of two things: cheap, cheerful products that looked fine in photographs and disintegrated quickly, and expensive "luxury" products that charged for branding rather than quality. The materials were often identical.

We wanted something different. Products made from genuinely excellent materials, designed to last, priced fairly for what they actually are.

## How We Build

We don't manufacture in a single factory. We work with specialist suppliers in four countries, each chosen for a specific capability:

**Leather goods** are made in the Veneto region of Italy — the same part of the world that supplies leather to the finest fashion houses in Europe. Our tannery uses traditional vegetable tanning. Our workshop does all cutting, stitching, and finishing by hand.

**Rope and woven products** come from Guimarães in northern Portugal, where rope-making traditions stretch back centuries. Our partner workshop has been weaving for three generations.

**Ceramics** are made in Byron Bay, Australia, by a studio ceramicist who wheel-throws each bowl individually. No moulds. No batch production.

**Technical fabrics and webbing** are sourced from a specialist mill in Bavaria, Germany. All materials are OEKO-TEX certified — independently verified to be free from harmful substances.

We visit every supplier in person. We know the people who make our products. That's not a marketing line — it's the only way we know how to work.

## What We Believe

We believe that what you put on your animal reflects how you feel about them. Not in an aspirational, lifestyle-advertising sense — in a practical sense. A well-fitted collar that won't fail is a statement about how seriously you take your pet's safety. A bowl made from food-safe materials is a statement about how seriously you take their health.

We also believe that quality and sustainability are the same thing. A product that lasts ten years doesn't end up in landfill after eighteen months. The most sustainable thing a product can do is be made so well that it never needs replacing.

## What's Next

PAWD is still a small company. We intend to keep it that way — not because we're precious about scale, but because our model only works if we can maintain direct relationships with our suppliers and direct accountability for every product we sell.

We're expanding our range carefully and slowly. Every new product goes through the same process: find the best material, find the best maker, get the details right before it ships.
