It started with a drawer. The one every dog owner ends up with, full of collars that did not work out. A clip that rusted after one summer at the beach. Webbing that frayed where it met the D-ring. A lead that let go on a wet footpath in Ultimo, which is the sort of thing you only need to experience once.
So we went looking, and found the pet aisle splits cleanly in two. Cheap things that look fine in a photograph and last a season, and expensive things that charge for a logo and are built exactly the same way underneath. We kept picking up a sixteen-dollar collar and a ninety-dollar collar and finding the same hardware on both.
What we wanted was narrow and apparently difficult: tell me what it is made of, tell me how to size it, and charge me what it is worth. Pawd is the attempt at that. An Australian brand, run out of Sydney, with a range we choose one product at a time and describe honestly.

Say the Real Thing.
Every product on this site states what it is actually made of. Vegan leather is called vegan leather. Cotton rope is called cotton rope. Where a lead has a rope body and a leather-look trim, the page says that, because the body is the part that wears out first. You can filter the whole range by material, which is not a feature most pet shops offer.

Show the Actual Product.
Every image on this site has been checked: no supplier watermarks, no size charts baked into the picture, no text overlays, no stock photography standing in for the real thing. Just the item you are buying, at a resolution that holds up when you zoom in.

Claim Nothing We Cannot Show.
We are a small Australian brand. The range is designed and selected here and made by a specialist manufacturing partner overseas, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. No certifications we do not hold, no countries of origin we cannot evidence, no customer numbers we have invented.
